I love going outside to paint! There are so many beautiful places in South Texas and the Hill Country that
almost beg to be painted. These Plein Air Clinics will serve as an introduction to the exciting activity of painting
outdoors / on location. The main focus will be on sketching and painting "en plein air" with watercolor. The
sketching applies to use for any medium. Information on using oils or pastels for plein air will also be shared by
artists in our group. Learn what supplies are essential and find out some tips for keeping things simple both with
supplies and techniques. As with most artistic endeavors there many ways to work and what works for some of
us may be different than what works for others. Our goal is to share our experiences with sound suggestions to
get us started with painting in Plein Air.

Remember .... Keep it simple!  Less is best!

Bookmark this page and check back for more info as the date approaches.
If you have watercolor supplies already...much of what
you already have will work for painting outside. The clinics
will give you an idea of what you NEED and what is
available in the art supply stores. Before you invest $$
come to the clinic and see what might work best for you.
There will be some artists at the clinic who will serve as mentors or coaches to assist those of you who
wish to work in oils or pastels. Again, before you invest $$ see what is suggested at the clinic to see
what you need.

Look at the suggestions below to see what other plein air artists I found online suggest for painting kits.
